Visit Rovaniemi engages in image- and event marketing, media visits, communications and PR and tourist information commissioned by the City of Rovaniemi. In addition, the company coordinates and implements regional marketing efforts for the Rovaniemi region together with partner companies.

In 2024, the number of partner companies is around 225. Partner companies are all shareholders in Visit Rovaniemi, owning a combined stake of 49 per cent. The remaining 51 per cent is owned by the City of Rovaniemi and administered by Rovaniemi Regional Development Agency Ltd.

Besides marketing, Visit Rovaniemi sells partner company services – Rovaniemi Tourist Information sells activities as well as other products and services to individual customers.

Visit Rovaniemi partner companies commit to paying an annual regional marketing fee, the amount of which depends on the size of the company.

The fee includes:

Online visibility: basic information on the visitrovaniemi.fi website
Brochure visibility: basic information in the Rovaniemi travel services brochure
Map visibility: location and basic information on the Rovaniemi tourist map
Brochure distribution: company brochures available at Rovaniemi Tourist Information (appx. 40 000 annual visitors)
Partner bulletins: what’s happening and what’s coming up in travel and marketing
Regional marketing plan: chance to influence the marketing plan within commenting time frame.

• Rovaniemi Christmas brand efforts: a chance to partake in implementing the Rovaniemi Christmas brand
• Media and tour operator visits: chance to be a part of media and tour operator visits in the area
• Regional visibility on visitfinland.com, lapland.fi/visit, fcb.fi and other portals as well as social media
• Regional briefing: bulletins and press releases distributed to international tour operators, media, collaborators and travel trade
• Media monitoring reports: reports on international media hits
• Service/event/product features on the visitrovaniemi.fi website
• The right to use the Rovaniemi – The Official Hometown of Santa Claus® logo and emblem in company marketing for a 100 euro annual charity fee. The charity fee is donated as such to Unicef for aid that is defined annually. Please note: partner companies do not have the right to assign the logo to a third party.
