Autumn Break on October 17th: Art Thursday Lasts All Day!

On the Thursday of the autumn break week, we celebrate the holiday with free admission to the museum all day. Throughout the day, there will also be two non-stop workshops led by students from the University of Lapland.

Forest Creatures Workshop / 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM & 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

According to Finnish folklore, the forest is home to various beings: spirits, underground creatures, and forest dwellers. The exhibition “Cry from the Forest” by the artist Teuvo Tuomivaara who explores the relationship with nature and mythology through his sculptures and works. You are welcome to come and explore and shape your own clay forest creatures in the open art workshop of Art Thursday!

The workshops will be held in the museum’s art workshop space. Each session can accommodate 25 people, and spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
