Snowmobile Safari with Ice Fishing Experience
About
Spend the afternoon the local way, combining two favorite leisure-time activities in Lapland: snowmobiling and ice fishing. Hop onto a snowmobile and drive through the wilderness to reach the perfect fishing spot on some of the many frozen lakes or rivers. Once there, you’ll get to drill the whole in the ice and start luring the fish! If you’re lucky to catch one, you get to cook it on the open fire. But even if you get hungry while waiting for a catch, no worries, we will make some reindeer burgers for you! After enjoying hot drinks and a snack, you’ll ride your snowmobiles back to the Santa Claus Village.

- All described activities, services and equipment
- Traditional reindeer burgers by the open fire
- Use of thermal clothing during the safari (thermal overall, boots, gloves, woolen socks and helmets)
- Guidance is in English, other languages on request
- Pick up from unlisted accommodation
- The driver of a snowmobile has to be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver license – B category (please check that it is valid in Finland!). For all the activities including snowmobiling we ask you to take your driving licenses with you. The driver’s license must be physically present (A DIGITAL VERSION OR PHOTO IS NOT ENOUGH) and written in roman letters.

- All snowmobiles used on tours are insured as required by Finnish law. The self liability flat rate can be reduced to 200€ per driver/accident case by purchasing a self liability waiver from Wild Nordic for 20 €/driver for the shorter (1-4 hour) safaris and for 30 €/driver for the longer (5-8 hour) safaris.
- Available un Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00
- Operated from 1st of January to 31st of March
- Will not be operated in insufficient snow conditions
- Pregnant women should not ride on the snowmobile or the sledge pulled by the snowmobile as the vibrations and exhaust fumes may be harmful to the human body.
