The sauna is an iconic and integral part of Finnish culture. It is listed by Unesco as an Intangible Cultural Heratige of Humanity. Finns have been using saunas for hundreds of years and traditionally, the sauna has been considered a mystical, sacred space where people can cleanse their bodies and minds and embrace a sense of inner peace. It is the ultimate well-being experience and a perfect way to finish off your day!
- Use of pre-heated wood-fired sauna for up to 90 minutes
- Winter swimming in open water (avanto) while using the sauna
- Towels and soft drinks
- Changing rooms, showers and wc
- A lounge for relaxing by a fire after the sauna for up to 30 minutes
- A fridge in the lounge's kitchenette for keeping your beer cold!

- Any other drinks apart from the soft drinks provided – drinks can be bought from our bar and taken with you to the sauna lounge
- We have a café and restaurant on-site too that serves traditional favourites in our 100 year old inn. It's a good idea to book your dinner table in advance to ensure you don't have to leave on an empty stomach!
- Swim socks and a bathrobe or something similar
- A clean change of clothes for after the sauna
- Your own water flask or bottle – you can fill it with fresh spring water from the tap in the sauna lounge kitchenette
- Low alcohol drinks if desired after the sauna – they can also be bought from our bar
- Swimming costumes are optional

The 17:00 time slot is available for anybody to book. Once a booking has been made, no more bookings are possible, so the sauna is private.
The 19:00 time slot is exclusively for guests staying at Korvala Log Cabins. Once a booking has been made, no more bookings are possible, so the sauna is private.
It's best to avoid having a big meal and alcohol before going to the sauna. Low alcohol drinks, like a cold beer, can be enjoyed after the sauna in the sauna-lounge but not whilst in the sauna.
We have a café and restaurant on-site that serves traditional favourites in our 100 year old inn. A dinner table can be booked in advance to ensure you don't leave on an empty stomach!
The experience lasts anything up to 2 hours in total with a maximum of 90 minutes in the sauna and any remaining time spent in the sauna-lounge if desired.
The temperature in the sauna is typically kept around 80-90°C (±10°C) and the temperature of the swimming water in the lake is around 1-2°C.
