Husky Safari 5 km, Barbecue, Meet Reindeers, Hiking to the Lake, Ice Fishing, Day Tour.

Are you ready for a day tour into the wilderness of Lapland?

We are in the wild Lapland, at about 50 minutes from Rovaniemi center, at 7 km from the Vanttauskoski village, along the river.

You will be introduced to the sled dog activity. You meet our sled dogs, get to know the equipment, and learn how to handle a sled ; You will drive your own sled with 6 huskies, for a 5 km safari, 2/3 adults per sled (+ children) in little or private group only ; (1 driver per sled).

We cross fields and forests to the rhythm of the dogs. After the walk, the dogs will be free and you can enjoy a moment of complicity with them and pet the dogs who wish.

Then, we will go to the chalet by the river, around the wood fire where we have lunch our grilled sausages, hot drink and dessert.

After lunch, we will then take the direction of a old natural park for a 2 to 4 km round trip walk.

The walk will take us to a viewpoint over the surrounding nature to the lake. If we are quiet enough, it may be the opportunity to meet wild animals like the capercaillie, the ptarmigan, the red fox, the otter or the swan. In any case, you will appreciate the silence and tranquility of Lappish nature. If you want, you can try the ice fishing during 30 minutes. then, you can go and warm yourself by the fire for a few minutes before heading back.

Return to the farm where you can have a hot drink in the chalet ; then, you can meet the emblematic animal of Lapland: the reindeer.

In the green season (from April to the end of November), the reindeer live freely in the forests, but in winter they live in enclosures in small groups, which provides them with protection and abundant food during the coldest season of the year.

We will enter the reindeer enclosure and bring them treats so that they get closer. You can then approach the reindeer and touch the most daring. This is the time to ask questions about the life of this beautiful half-domesticated animal which is certainly the domestic animal, the most adapted to Lappish nature.

 It's time to go back to the city center.

The pickup and drop off from Rovaniemi center is optional. Please take the option if you don't have rental car.
